Scarlett Thomas and Halley Cooke have been best friends ever since they became neighbors in third grade. Halley's mom sends her to summer camp, right before Junior year takes off, just as things start to change. Michael Sherwood, Scarlett's boyfriend, dies in a motorcycle accident.
